The Douglas Boehrer Memorial Garden is located adjacent to the WCA pavilion parking lot. In the upper section of the garden, tucked in among the pine trees, you'll find a perfectly sized white gazebo constructed in 2017 from a grant provided by The Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. The circular pattern pavers that make up the floor of the gazebo were donated and installed by Josh Yesik Landscaping. The lower and final section of the garden was completed in October 2020 by Final Touch Quality Landscaping and Lawn Care. It is our hope that you'll find this to be a place where you can relax, read, or simply reminisce about a loved one. It is also a beautiful backdrop to have prom, engagement, or wedding pictures taken. The garden was a dream of one man, Douglas Boehrer, and was realized through the work and support of many volunteers. THE GARDEN, WHICH WAS DESIGNED AND SPEARHEADED BY VINCE MORRIS, was finally completed in October 2020. Doug's passion was the WCA. While he served in many roles for the association, he was the President of the WCA at his untimely passing in April 2017. As you walk along the beautiful pathway, you are invited to sit a while on a park bench or spend some time with Everett "Buddy" Kaul on a bench that honors him. Buddy was a long time past president of the association and was active in the important restoration of the Walnutport section of the Lehigh Canal in 1953. We also invite you help enhance the garden by planting a tree, bush or purchase a bench in memory of your loved one. Please contact Vince Morris at 703-999-4083 for more information.
